Modular OT Company in India: How to Pick One You Can Trust
Choosing a modular OT company is one of the biggest decisions in setting up a hospital, because an operating theatre is hard to change once it is built. A reliable company designs, manufactures, installs and tests the whole room, then hands over proof that it performs as promised.
Start with the scope, not the price. Two quotes can look very different simply because one includes air handling, flooring and medical gas outlets while the other does not. Ask for a written scope covering panels, doors, lights, pendants, control panel, HVAC, installation and testing, so you compare like with like.
Ask which standard the design follows. Airflow and pressure are what keep an OT safe. Many projects follow ASHRAE 170, which suggests about 20 air changes an hour, 20-24°C and positive pressure against corridors. Your accreditor or consultant may require a different standard, so confirm it early and get it in writing.
Look closely at the surfaces. Panels, door seals, flooring joints and ceiling junctions should be smooth, sealed and non-porous. Every gap is a place where dust and microbes can settle, and a room that is hard to clean is hard to keep safe.
Insist on testing at handover. A finished room should come with air change measurements, differential pressure readings and particle count reports. These documents are your evidence that the OT works as designed, and they are useful again at every revalidation.
Speak to people who already use their work. Visit a completed theatre if you can, or call the hospital's biomedical or OT staff. Ask how installation went, how quickly faults were fixed and whether spare parts arrived on time. After-sales support matters for years after handover.
Finally, involve surgeons, nurses and infection control staff before the layout is frozen. They spot practical issues, such as door swing and storage access, that drawings miss.
